2009 February14th: Romantic weekend meal

Puff pastry pizzas; chicken curry puffs; citrus roasted salmon with creme fraiche and horseradish sauce; spicy ‘naked’ jalapeno poppers; a simple one-layer tiramisu to sweeten it all up. All homemade in just 2 hrs, leaving plenty of time to enjoy V-day with my sweetheart.

2010 February 7th: Football feast

For our annual hosting of Super Bowl Sunday, we keep things simple – orange and paprika-roasted almonds are the only homemade items. Pair them with chips and salsa, hot delivery pizza, a delicious chocolate cake a friend brought over and tons of beer, and you have a very festive football night.

2010 January 29th: Birthday Special Gulab Jamuns

Rose-flavored dough-balls, deep fried till golden brown and macerated in a saffron-scented sugar syrup. My favorite dessert of the whole year, specially made by wifey for my birthday.

Chilly Paneer. Bhel Puri. Shrimp Tempura. Vegetable Tempura. Hyderabadi Chicken Biryani. Methi Tomato Chicken. Pumpkin Pie. And a raspberry mango spritzer to wash it all down!

2009 December 15th: Fresh Tagliatelle with Jalapeno Sausages in Cream Sauce

Fresh pasta with a rich cream sauce, mushrooms and red peppers, with pieces of ready-made Jalapeno Sausages mixed in.

2009 November 30th: Orange-Mango-Strawberry Smoothie

My smoothie for the week made by blending fresh strawberries with some store-bought mango/orange juice and skim milk.


2009 November 22nd: Spicy Cajun-style buttermilk fried chicken with waffles.

2009 November 15th: Home-made ‘Good Eats’ Waffles

To celebrate the official launch of Eat Love Cook, we bought a waffle maker and whipped up our first batch of home-made waffle goodness.

We used Alton Brown’s recipe and the waffles came out splendidly light and golden brown. I topped with butter and sugar, she topped with syrup.
